World Class Canyoning in Ouray, Colorado
Ouray, Colorado’s flowing water canyons are a world-class destination for the sport of canyoning. The canyons of Ouray are a terrific place to learn the sport or to expand your skills for canyoning around the world.
Half Day and Full Day Programs Available
Our half-day program provides a perfect introduction to canyoning. We begin with an introduction to the basics of equipment use, safety, and rappelling. After this introduction, we will go to either Angel Creek or Portland Creek for a multi-hour descent down a beautiful alpine canyon. You will experience fantastic scenery, several rappels, and an exciting hike through a flowing water canyon. In the full day program, you will gain additional practice with technical skills and you will do descents of both Angel Creek and Portland Creek. We also offer full day guided descents of Oak Creek Canyon for those with previous experience.
We Cater to Kids and Families
Our instructors and guides are highly skilled at creating rewarding and memorable experiences for kids and families. Many of our guides are former public school teachers and outdoor education instructors, and we understand the unique needs of kids and families in the outdoors. We have served school districts, Boy Scout troops, local youth programs, and families just like yours. We will design your family’s experience to be highly rewarding, safety-focused, and a memorable experience that you will cherish for years to come.
Canyoneering in Moab, Utah
We also offer guided canyoneering trips through Morning Glory Canyon in Moab, Utah. This is a dry canyon, thus the term “canyoneering” is used to distinguish it from canyoning (which involves water in the canyon, as in Ouray). The Morning Glory canyoneering route is a beginner level, half-day excursion with two 90-100 foot rappels. It includes the famed free-hanging rappel off of Morning Glory Arch.
