Outline

Day 1:
We jump right into things. Start the day by getting acquainted with a #2 hand crack. After the initial try, we’ll discuss making tape gloves, and learn proper techniques for hand and foot jams. Participants will spend the better half of the day “finding their jam”! We have found Supercrack Buttress to be a good venue for this day.

Day 2:
This day is generally spent 1 of 2 different ways depending on the group:

The first option is driving to Moab in search of moderate climbing. This offers a break from splitters and allows students to practice skills ranging from single pitch rescue to placing trad gear, learning to lead, etc.

The second option is to continue climbing in Indian Creek. It is still possible to cover any additional technical topics in the Creek.

Day 3:
This will be the day to review and practice skills learned from previous days. We will climb at a wall that allows participants to practice a variety of sizes, giving the option to learn some off-width technique if chosen.
