Indian Creek Crack Clinic

Indian Creek is the world’s most famous crack climbing venue for good reason and our Indian Creek Crack Clinic is an intensive 3 day program designed to give participants the tools and confidence for climbing cracks using proper technique. This is both an opportunity for experienced climbers to sharpen their crack climbing and for less experienced climbers to find their jam.

COST
$650 per person

  • indian creek crack climbing at supercrack buttress 3-day clinic
  • climbing generic crack at indian creek during a 3-day course
  • group instruction for learning to rock climb parallel sided cracks

Outline

Day 1:
We jump right into things. Start the day by getting acquainted with a #2 hand crack. After the initial try, we’ll discuss making tape gloves, and learn proper techniques for hand and foot jams. Participants will spend the better half of the day “finding their jam”! We have found Supercrack Buttress to be a good venue for this day.

Day 2:
This day is generally spent 1 of 2 different ways depending on the group:

The first option is driving to Moab in search of moderate climbing. This offers a break from splitters and allows students to practice skills ranging from single pitch rescue to placing trad gear, learning to lead, etc.

The second option is to continue climbing in Indian Creek. It is still possible to cover any additional technical topics in the Creek.

Day 3:
This will be the day to review and practice skills learned from previous days. We will climb at a wall that allows participants to practice a variety of sizes, giving the option to learn some off-width technique if chosen.
