In this 2-day rock climbing class, participants get in as much climbing as possible and learn the technical skills to join a climbing party. The lessons cover everything from fitting your harness and tying into the rope to climbing all styles of rock, this course is a great way to get an introduction to rock climbing!

Outline
Day 1:
After introductions and a quick discussion on the format of the course the guide will set up a toprope. The day is a progression from here. Beginning from the most basic steps, the goal of the day is to expose participants to a number of rock climbs, learn the basics of belaying, and be able to participate in a toprope setting.
Day 2:
This is a day of refinement and practice of the previous day’s movement lessons with those ready for steeper terrain shown how to progress. The guide will introduce participants to basic anchoring concepts and the different types of rock climbing protection.

Time and Place
This trip runs in a number of different climbing areas. Detailed instructions on where to meet are given during the registration process. In general, the days run from 8am to 4pm.
In this 2 day intermediate rock climbing course participants learn the technical skills to become an independent party. This course dives into the principles and methodology of building anchors and setting up rock climbs on toprope. You’ll learn how to address common issues encountered in the single pitch environment with the most up to date best practices.
