Project Description

Rock Climbing in the Black Canyon

Experienced Black Canyon Climbing Guides

Our guides are long-time, local Black Canyon climbers with years of personal and professional experience in “The Black”.  We have logged many miles on the classics and we have traveled the lesser known adventure routes as well. This area is special to us and we look forward to sharing its mystery, challenge, and beauty with you.

Adventure Climbing from 5.8 – 5.10

Black Canyon rock climbing is true adventure climbing with multi-pitch climbs starting at the 5.8/5.9 level of difficulty.  Classic routes like Maiden Voyage (III 5.9-), Casually Off-Route (III 5.9), Leisure Climb (III 5.9), and Escape Artist (III 5.10a) offer full value for the grade and a deeply rewarding experience.  Advanced climbers will scratch big achievements off their ticklist when topping out on routes like Comic Relief (III+ 5.10b), Journey Home (IV 5.10), and The Scenic Cruise (V 5.10+).

Experience True Wilderness, Solitude, and Commitment

Rock climbing in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison offers a true wilderness experience with few climbers, rugged terrain, and a unique sense of commitment. In a world where opportunities for solitude and wilderness are diminishing, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is more relevant than ever before for these experiences.  Join us for the climbing experience of a lifetime in this incredibly unique area.
