Day 1:
After brief introductions in our office your guide will fit a harness, helmet, boots, and crampons for each participant. The group then travels 2 minutes to the Ice Park where the guide will set up a toprope, explaining the characteristics of an anchor while doing so. If applicable, the team will rappel into the gorge and start the belaying and movement lessons of the day.
Day 2:
The day kicks off with the participants getting involved in setting up the first anchor of the day. This is a day of refinement and practice of the previous day’s movement lessons with those ready for steeper terrain shown how to progress. The guide will introduce participants to the placement of ice screws and have everyone practice constructing an anchor.
This is an open enrollment course. The maximum group size is 8.
All the technical climbing equipment required for this outing is included.
