The American Haute Route is a concept with the goal of creating routes connecting the various backcountry huts within the San Juan Mountains through a multi-day traverse.
The Haute Route, or “high route” in French, is inspired by Europe’s legendary traverses such as The Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route. It is the result of passionate skiers and snowboarders trying to explore deeper into the mountains in order to experience them in ways many never will.
