Rock Climbing Lessons

After a round of introductions and a discussion about the format of the course you’ll immediately dive into hands on lessons.

We specialize in teaching movement
The most important skill in climbing? Climbing. Peak has developed a methodology of teaching climbing movement that works for the beginner just as well as the 5.12 gym climber looking to make the step outdoors. We’ll break down movement in drills that focus on footwork, muscle isolation, route reading, and climbing strategy.

Technical rope work
The curriculum for this course begins with with a review of foundational skills such as tying with a figure 8 and giving a reliable belay with a Gri Gri or ATC. From here we quickly move on to building anchors, cleaning anchors, and lead belaying. If you lead in the gym, you’ll leave this course with the knowledge to lead climbs outdoors.

Become a competent climber
The instructors have been in your shoes, new to the world of climbing outdoors and looking for every opportunity to learn. Throughout the 2 days they seek out opportunities to give individual feedback and help you as the individual in your progression. We will also help participants learn the ethics of the modern climbing area to help us all preserve access.

Mountain Trip will now be handling booking for climbing. Please call 970-369-1153 to book.
